Follow This Five (5) Step Process - Ordering an AeroComposites propeller for your aircraft is straight forward. Just call us at (860) 829-6809 and together we will go through the following five step process:
Step One: Review the "Propeller Models" page of this Web Site. From the material presented, we will select the appropriate Propeller Model (e.g. Model 2150) appropriate for your aircraft/engine/ horsepower. The appropriate propeller diameter for your application will then be determined. As a starting point, it will be useful to know the propeller diameter recommended by your kit aircraft manufacturer. Factors to consider that affect propeller diameter choice include engine horsepower, number of propeller blades chosen, desired ground clearance, and trade-off desired between climb rate and top cruise speed. The paint scheme selected for your propeller can be our standard (red-white-blue tip stripes shown at right) or optionally you can choose a customized (e.g. red-gold-black stripes shown at left) design/colors to match your aircraft paint scheme. You can choose whether or not you want to have AeroComposites labels on your blades.
Step Two: Referring to the Spinner/Hub Installation figure below, specify dimensions A and B or dimensions C and D (all 4 dimensions are not required) for your aircraft/installation. These di mensions for your spinner/hub can be provided to us at a later date since you will probably need to take these measurements on your aircraft or current propeller assembly. Since it is very likely that our propeller is already flying on your aircraft model, we may already have the dimensions needed for your application. We will need to know if the cowl you have chosen is standard for your aircraft kit or is a custom cowl. Note that the gap dimension between the back of your spinner cone and the front of your cowl is typically set by us to be approximately 3/16".
Step Three: At this point, you will be asked to enter the information for your aircraft application (choices made in Steps One and Two above) on the order form below and then "SUBMIT" the completed form to AeroComposites. At this time we will review with you the price for your propeller and any options you have chosen. This information will be be placed in your folder at AeroComposites and will be used in configuring/manufacturing your blades/hub/spinner.
Step Four: After we have spoken and you are satisfied with the propeller selection for your aircraft application, you will be asked to mail us your advance deposit check in the amount of $1,000. Your deposit will reserve a position for you in our AeroComposites production schedule to meet your propeller need date. Upon receipt of your advance deposit check, AeroComposites will send you confirmation that your advance deposit has been received.
Step Five: When manufacture of the blades for your propeller is complete, you will be invoiced for half of the total balance due on your propeller. The last invoice, for the balance due on your propeller, will be sent to you when all of the parts (e.g. blades, hub) for your propeller assembly are available, and the date for your propeller assembly has been scheduled. Finally, you will be invoiced for propeller shipping charges (shipment options will first be discussed with you) following the assembly of your propeller. AeroComposites will maintain contact with you throughout the propeller build cycle and during installation of the propeller/spinner on your aircraft. Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction is of prime importance to us at AeroComposites.
Notes: *Aircraft Model: AeroComposites propeller systems are for use on experimental category aircraft only. *Engine Model: Your engine must be able to supply/drive a hydraulic (oil-actuated) propeller governor.
